Water Wall, consisting of 960 glass canisters filled with water taken from East Lake at Donghu Res. Park, Shenzhen River that divides the border between Shenzhen/Hong Kong, and Dapeng Bay, was situated in the main venue for this biennale (underground space in the civic square). The wall of glass canisters filled with water were transparent and looked like a wall of glass block. Shenzhen is located in the Pearl River Delta which has been instrumental in its development as an economic center. My intention was to bring people's attention to the waters of the delta and was to change their perception of the place by looking through the transparent wall - or a large lens - of the Pearl River waters. Nothing is more precious than water. The wall contained the lake, river, and sea and became a comprehensive representation of the waters.
東湖公園内の東湖の水、深センと香港の境界線となる深セン川の水、そして大鵬湾から採取された水の入った960個のガラスキャニスターによって造られた、ウォーターウォールはビエンナーレのメイン会場（市庁舎広場地下空間）に設置されました。これらの水で満たされたガラスキャニスターは透明でガラスブロックの壁のようでした。珠江デルタに位置する深センは、水が経済的中心地となる為に重要な役割を果たしてきました。私の意図は、人々の注意をデルタ地帯の水に向けさせ、珠江の水の透明な壁（あるいは巨大なレンズ）を通して見ることで、この場所の知覚を変えることでした。水ほど貴重なものはありません。湖と川と海によって成るこの壁は、水の包括的な提示となりました。
